No, no, the dealer was not suggesting a fixed tire placement, only as an emergency to travel a mile or two, instead of using the goop, but he was careful to say the front could be used at the back, but not vice versa, and I was thinking of buying a spare front.
Given the posts, I've concluded that was inaccurate advice and perhaps a more frugal/efficient move is to buy new rear rims/tires for the front.
From what I've read, OEM rear rims and tires will clear front tire well parameters with no problem.
