OK, folks: I'm not too proud to ask for help.
How do I get the bloody "Fuelly" avitar to work on my profile?
I could spend the rest of the evening mucking about, but time is short.
This is what I'm trying to paste and I keep getting an invalid file.

Never mind.
I'm making an appointment with my optometrist tomorrow.

Gotta love that Murphy guy.

So much to learn.
Hey, by the way, I found the tire swap out very interesting.
I was told by my dealer flat out that the rear tire could not be used up fron, that a spare front tre could be used in the rear, (instead of the goop fix, which is pretty alien to my way of thinking).
So was the dealer advice not accurate? Will the larger tire up front clear the body? Am I posting this in the wrong forum/thread?

The dealer was probably half right: a spare sized as a front could work on any corner.

I'd love to hear comments on the effect of mixed sizes up front for steering versus mixed sizes in back on the "fixed" axle.

No, no, the dealer was not suggesting a fixed tire placement, only as an emergency to travel a mile or two, instead of using the goop, but he was careful to say the front could be used at the back, but not vice versa, and I was thinking of buying a spare front.
Given the posts, I've concluded that was inaccurate advice and perhaps a more frugal/efficient move is to buy new rear rims/tires for the front.
From what I've read, OEM rear rims and tires will clear front tire well parameters with no problem.

Oh yeah: Sorry for the spelling oversight on my last post.

I understand a fixed tire placement was not suggested. I thought the given recommendation may have been because of driveability issues for the short time it takes to aquire a replacement. Would the mix of narrow and wide up front affect the steering much more than the mix on the rear axles for that limited amount of time?

Welcome to the 'Pack'!

We're having a meet and greet in Arlington this Saturday nite.

Check out the "Mid-Atlantic Region" under Chapters & Regions (left side of this page) for info on the July Anniversary Meet and Greet.

Also, there are a few threads under the "Tire & Wheels" threads that might interest you. Some have gone to "4-Square" and have placed the same size on all four corners and increased the tire width for a smoother ride.
