My First Post!

Ive caught the Smart bug, as it were. After seeing a few of them around where i work recently and my current dislike of the car im driving (04 VW Jetta) i decided today to go look at Smart cars at the dealership in Dallas, TX.
I used to have MINI Cooper S and i miss the handling and fun of the MINI, and the Jetta is not exactly up to par. And i have to say i really like it! So i decided to come here and learn all i can about them. I live in the D/FW area of Texas, so if theres a D/FW or texas local chapter i would love to meet you guys!

Well hello from Southern California!!!
I am on the waiting list for the car.
When I decided to order one, I took my wife to see the car.
She fell in love with it and is buying an orphan next week, LOL.
Me, I will keep waiting...though, unfortunately, they will not be offerring yellow in 2009.

IrishMikl - The smart isn't a Mini 'S' in any way. Welcome to the forum and have fun shopping!! And make sure you drive before you buy!

I know its not a MINI S, i love the way the car looks and think i can deal with the reduced power but ill know for sure when i test drive one next week. My Jetta isnt that fast, and to be honest i care more about handling than i do speed.
