Never have I waited before!

For the first time in my life, I am waiting for a car! The waiting list is a year long and well worth it for the model and color I want.....Red...red....cabriolet. I believe that this is the first REAL step towards saving consumers real money yet provide all we desire for day to day transportation. DETROIT....WAKE UP>>>>you are being out SMARTed by a company sensitive to what we really NEED today. Congratulations SCA, you stepped forward!

yes, the concept of "Waiting" is new to many of us Americans.

"Patience" is also not only a virtue, but apparently a 'lost art' as well....

In early 2002 I custom ordered the brand new Mercedes C230. They have an awesome tracking system and I was able to see how it went through manufacturing, shipping, and delivery. Total took 3 months and I got 'exactly' what I wanted. Well, at least what I thought I wanted at the time, until I 'got better' and moved on to my 004 Mazdaspeed MX-5. My actual frustration with some car markers (like Toyota) is that you CANNOT custom order a car. I've really gotten spoiled by that and was very happy to see that the Smart Reservation system allowed for full customization.

I waited 14 months for my Black/Silver Passion, for awhile at aboit the 12 month point I was getting frustrated and nearly cancelled my order and was offered a similar model but I decided I would wait for "my" car and I am glad I did, I love my smart more than I ever thought I would!

Curtis, So glad to hear you are in love with your smartie. Was in waiting while you were as well and I was worried you were going to bail before your smartie arrived. They are truly wonderful machines, more a way of life than a car. A "performance" car of a different sort. Mine makes me take a deep breath and enjoy the ride, no rush! Sniff the roses. Have fun!!
