New Arizona Member checking in...

Hey everyone. I live in Prescott Valley, Arizona. I've been riding motorcyles for 45 years (owning a car for bad weather and other situations). The Smartcar is the first production vehicle with 4 wheels that is worthy of replacing my bike (a move encouraged by arthritis).

I put in my reservation in early May, having been interested in the Smartcar for years, and right after discovering that SmartUSA was accepting them. Like everyone else, I am anxiously waiting for the dealers to open and getting on with the purchase/delivery process. I'm a little discouraged that I haven't yet heard from SmartUSA concerning confirmation, but reading over the posts on this site, everyone seems to be pretty much in the same boat.

Ron, I see that you reserved 51 days before I did and have been confirmed. Do you have any idea as to how smartusa is prioritizing on the area level? I'm wondering how many reservations were made in the Chandler dealer's area and what effect that has on when my reservation will be dealt with. From what I read on this site, I must be around the 14,000th reservation made nationally, which looks good for July or so... maybe... unless... except...

I made my resvervation on May the 12th,and should have been able to configure on Dec 12th but diden't get the e-mail.They called me on Dec 20th and sent the e-mail,I configured that day.You might want to call them.

Hey BigBird, thanks for that info. How did you arrive at a Dec 12th configuration date? Whom do I call?

I believe you have a ten day window,they called me on Dec 20th and said i have two days to configure which takes me back to Dec 12th.I called Smartusa.

Thanks, BigBird. I called smartusa and they said that every thing is in order and that I can expect to hear from them "soon". BUT, they assured me that they haven't attempted to contact me yet. So there must be something more to how they decide to contact than simply the chronological order of reservation placement. As we used to say in the Navy, it's alphabetical according to height. Now if Teapots is between 5'1" and 5'3"...

I am. I shot Smart another email and called again and I was told it would be "soon".

I even checked my computer Christmas morning, hoping the email had arrived. I just have to learn to be patient...
