I have had my smart about a month and a half. It is a querky little car. Funny transmission, very light, seems to get blown around on the highway. That being said it took me about an hour to get used to the transmission, and found that I was over reacting to the wind. If you trust the car you can let go of the steering wheel on the highway and it will still go strait. It feels worse than it is. I couldn't say I would recomend it to everyone, but if you don't mind a little bit of a learning curve, and you are not afraid of the small package this car is a blast. I already have about 3500 miles on mine and have averaged, to date, 41mpg. Looking to get some new wheels and wider tires, understand it makes the car handle better.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride! I swapped to 15x6 Rial wheels with 195/50 Yokohama tires at all four corners and have enjoyed the upgrade. You might check out this thread for some more ideas: Are YOU a Member of the "I Can Rotate My Tires Club"?

well like they say... Black is the new Black in smart cars.... OK so I made that up. The wind thing is only on gusty windy days, and my Expedition does the same thing. the main thing is to not over-react. I learned that on my motorcycle. just sit back and enjoy the ride. tires and rims can be quite expensive as they only fit our lil cars. Black is the most difficult color to keep clean..
