First i want to thank everyone who post here. I have been interested in the smart for 6 months and this forum gave me all the info i needed. I bought my smart used on ebay 2 weeks ago and have been driving it for a week. I got a triple black Cab loaded with lots of extra for $16000. It has 6000 mile on it so i thought that was a god deal? Im still learning about the car but so far its been great. I look forward to all your input with my post. Thanks again.
Welcome to the forum! :>) Out of all the cars I've owned & driven in my lifetime, there's never been one that I enjoy as much as my smart. Plus, I've already met a whole bunch of wonderful people that I would never have met if I'd been driving any other car! :>) I've had mine for 8 months, and I STILL go into withdrawal if I don't get to drive mine every day! :>) Hope you enjoy yours just as much! Oh.......now your next step should be to become a supporting member of the SCOA! :>)
Welcome aboard, and congrats on your new smartie! There seems to be a fair number of smarts up in NJ, with a fairly active group - you may want to check the regional forums to see who else is in your area.
I am seeing more and more Smarts in NJ. Still not as common as other cars but the numbers are increasing. I live in East Windsor New Jersey. What part of NJ are you in? I am trying to see if I can another meet and greet going in NJ. Check out the NJ section of the local groups of this forum.

Im in union county close to the short hills mall. Im hoping that the Ray Catina on Rt 22 will open a service center so i wont have to drive down to the one in Edison for service.
My name is Billy and my wife Peggy just received her SMART this week end. We ordered Oct 08 and got a calle from the dealership on New Year's Eve that one had become available that came close to what we had ordered. We had ordered red, but blue was our second choice. We arrived at the Dealership on Friday, Jan 2 and after about an 1 1/2 hours we were the proud owners of a new orphan. We were on our way to our childern's home in East Texas. We asked if we could leave our new baby and pick it up on our way back. Bryan, our wonderful salesperson said he would be glad to babysit it for us until our return. We left him a key and he parked it in a secure lot next door. It was waiting for us on Sunday and my wife got to drive it home for the first time. She was so excited that she immediately parked it in the garage and would not take it out until the weather cleared the next day. So far it has not been out in bad weather. I am sure that will change as time goes by. She has not let me drive it yet. We are taking it to church tonight. I am sure we will turn many heads. Can't wait until I get her permission take it for a spin.
