New Girl In Town

Hello all,
I am new to the Smart experience. I have only been doing research on these cars, but can not wait to test drive one! From there I am sure I will place my order for my new ride! I think these little cars are so cute and offer just the right combination of ammenities and value-truly SMART!!

Welcome...yes these little cars are something - too bad you just can't go to your local smart dealership and pick one up. But they ARE worth the wait, and while you wait there is no place better then here!

It seems to be the case from what I am reading. I can not imagine anyone wanting to orphan these little cuties though!

Welcome to the forum - It happens to the best of families but I feel it is our place in life to take these poor rejected smart cars into our lives and make a good home for them.

I have heard the service aspect of these cars is a bit lacking. Have you had any experience with this?

Our dealer in Sacramento was excellent on a minor issue with the alarm. I would hope that most dealers are up to speed in the service departments . Remember the first Smart cars just started to trickle into the dealers starting at the end of January so they've only been on the roads here for about 4 months. My car has been running perfectly since February.

At 1000 miles my check engine light came on. I took it to my dealer, Loeber Motors in Chicago. They hooked it up to the computer, found it to have a bad valve (although the car ran great and I never knew something was wrong), replaced it and I was back on the road in under 45 minutes. The car IS worth the wait, but my original reservation is not due until June 2009 - therefore we welcomed an Orphan into the family. In fact, we are on the Orphan list for a second and both of our teens have placed an online order for their graduation cars. Good luck acquiring a Smart!

PS Get a Cabrio!
