I'm new and just recently reserved a smart car. I thought I would ask every one how long it took to get one after reserving?

Long enough that patience is key is probably a good nontechnical answer. A guy around here waited six months from order to driving, and for some it's 8, 12... Multiple months.

We reserved two in April 2007 one day apart. The one reserved second, the Passion, came in first 13 months after reserving. The second, reserved first, the Cabrio, came in 14 months after reserving. Well worth the wait but a long, long wait.

Dear snubs, welcome to the Forum! I reserved my black/silver Passion on April 16, 2007 (Res.#: 1204), and I picked mine up on May 1, 2008. I just broke 1,000 miles and I've enjoyed every one of them! Averaging 43.4 mpg, I do a lot of mountain driving. It's well worth the wait, and it appears that the delivery process is speeding up. So hang in there and hope that the 2009 model has worked out most of the bugs that some of us have experienced. Bob
