New member to the forum, do not have a smart car but thinking very hard about buying one. I live in Ocean City Maryland. I really like the car, dont know if it is able to go to Myrtle Beach S.C Or if the car would be able to go through the mountains of West Virgina, It would be nice to hear from some of you on how this smart car would be able to travel, I know it is good for around the local areas, but It would be nice to know if it would go futher without to much hassel or lack of power going to the mountains.
Originally from Switzerland, I've seen smarts going up the passes, in the snow. At least a couple of SCoA participants have travelled across the USA, from East to West. A neighbor of mine travelled from Sarasota to DC via Pennsylvania: no problem. And several westerners have travelled around too.
Of course, it's not a Lincoln, it doesn't drive itself on the Interstate. It's a car one drives. And enjoys! Hope you'll be next in line. Beware, that line can be long...
Welcome!
fastbandit - Welcome to the wonderful world of smart!!! The smart is a road car. It begs to be driven and unlike the econo boxes by other manufacturers, it's not underpowered and completely safe and comfortable. I recommend you test drive one at your nearest smart center.
