Hi Everyone,

I do not have a Smart as yet but soon. Just when I was going to order one I lost my job and as soon as a I get one I will buy a Smart. Several quick questions:
1. Smart Madness has the electronic throttle control module. Is it any good?
2. Does the Cold Air Intake with Filter from K&N work as well? Does it need the Cold Ram Air Intake Scoop to make it effective or more effective?
3. Last question. Is the convertible worth the extra money?

If you are a cyclist and have a Smart I would like to recommend the Xootr Swift Folding Bike. Strong, 10 second breakdown and will fit in the back of a Smart without adding bike rack to the back.

link to bike rack?

If you know a link to see the bike rack, I would like to look into it.

I am still pretty new to this site also, so I cant answer your questions. Just a little advise, it seams most people don't look at the new member area, so you might be better to post this in either the modifications, or general area.

I assume you mean the cruise control. Both the Area 451 and the MDC (?) are rated very high by those who have bought and installed them ( I have the Area451 and love it)

#2 omitted for lack of expertise...

Worth it to whom? Assuming you get another job soon (and I have no reason to wish you otherwise), will plunking down an extra $3k cost you groceries for the month, cause you to lose you apartment, force you to continue to wear worn-out shoes for another year? If so, then no, it isn't worth it. On the other hand, if you can afford it, and particularly value a convertible, then yes, it probably is worth it. It is a personal decision, and if you ask those that bought it, a vast majority will say they think it worth it. If you ask those that didn't buy it, they may say they didn't want it (myself being one), couldn't afford it, or any number of other things. It is something you need to figure out for yourself. On a more objective note, it is well crafted, and carries certain improvements (from what I can see) over other convertibles. If you search the site, you will find a number of prior discussions about this that may help you decide.

And for those interested, the folding bike (which has been around in various forms from various manufacturers since the 70's, at least), can be found here: Folding Bicycle | Xootr Swift - Xootr Urban Transport
