Hello,
I am looking into purchasing a smart car. There is one in my town and I instantly wanted one. I am right now driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee that needs more work and more gas then I would like to pay for. I wanted to see how everyone liked the cars before I decide what to do. I have been reading up a lot on it but I want first hand experience from people with it to really get an idea. Anything you can tell me would be great!!

Devon

dmasse, what town are you from? Most of the people on this forum are smart owners, so you'll probably not get too much negative feedback. I myself have owned mine for just under a month and love it. It's great on gas, fun to drive, and certainly something a bit different. Do your homework and pick out what you really want, and enjoy! Certainly call dealerships if you want a car sooner than later and you may be lucky enough to get an orphaned car (one that was ordered and arrived but was not actually purchased). Other than that, be prepared to wait awhile, but it's definitely a great car!

Hi Dmasse !

I've had my smart for 2 months and love every bit of it. The forum has all kinds of helpfull info, and an orphan would be your best bet if you don't want to wait until around 2010. I got an orphan and now have another smartie on order. Join the Mass gang, Winchendon here.

I am from Southbridge, MA. I have defiantly been doing my homework about this car. I really like the size and especially the mpg that I have read about. The only thing I am really worried about is the winters. Has anyone had one in the winter? I want this to be my primary car. I would like to get one either the end of this year or the beginning of the next but the whole winter is really going to be tricky. If I have to wait longer that is totally fine with me I just hope the car I have now holds out hahaha. It really does not like all the rain we are getting.
