Hello from WI.. Plan on buying a 'SMART' car as soon as I can..
Does it make a difference what dealer you order it from?

it seems that more metropolitan dealerships get reserved cars sooner, such as NYC. you can usually get on a secondary/'orphan' list with several dealerships to try to get a car that has been turned down by the reservationist. it's how i got mine, took me less than a month to have the car i wanted.

You don't have a lot of choices. The only dealer in WI is in MKE.

Take a test drive, then decide if you can wait the year and order online or if you can't wait, ask to be on the orphon list at the dealer.

Untill then, learn all you can so there are less supprises, especialy about the best way to use the transmition.
