New owner - Almost! - Get my orphan tomorrow.
Hello from Maryland. I just found this forum last Friday and thought I should introduce myself. I signed up online a while back, but also signed up for an orphan at our closest dealer as soon as they opened.
Last week I (sadly) turned down a Cabriolet. We live in Baltimore where soft tops are a risk. I had a Mustang top sliced a few yeas ago, so my current convertible is an older Benz SLK.
But I just got a call that a red Passion is available. I put a deposit on it with a CC while I was on the phone. So, tomorrow afternoon, I hope to trade a big check for a tiny car. We are looking forward to this mini-BENZ because we have to park on the street - in a very nice, but very crowded, neighborhood in Baltimore.
Interesting, we were at the dealer last week so my wife could check out the car - and never thought I would get another call so soon. The last time she had seen one in person was in Germany nearly three years ago. She liked them then - and was sad that we had to turn down the first orphan offer (but I had requested a Passion). The Smarts were found parked in the tiniest of spaces, yet seemed to do well on the Autobahn - where they could keep up with the majority of cars. Not everyone drives 100 mph over there. (Actually, very few people drive that fast. Most drive about 75-80 on the open road.)
OK - too much verbosity. I'll next post (hopefully) in the delivery forum.

Maybe I'll see you around town. Keep a look out for me, a red/blk/red Passion coupe.
I assume your dealer is Annapolis?
And the description of your crowded neighborhood makes me think of Federal Hill**- am i close?
And by the way, this past weekend we took a trip to Dewey Beach in the smartie- she was a big hit down there, and did just fine on the highways down and back.
Congratulations!!!

Thanks. And, right on both counts. Annapolis and Federal Hill. I'm sure we'll have ours in Ocean City from time to time. We have a place down there and keep an old (91) Miata there. The Miata now has to go...( probably donate )...

I'll let you know all that good stuff (hopefully) tomorrow night. I just arranged for an early afternoon ride to Annapolis. I know it is Red w/ Black Tridion, comfort pkg, fog lights, alarm. But I don't recall hearing the interior color. Doesn't really matter - we wanted a passion to be able to park in this area - plus the fact that I like cool cars.

Got It - WooHoo!
OK - WooHoo! Picked up my orphan yesterday afternoon. Yep, April 1st - but this is no April Fool's Joke.
Passion w/ Comfort Group - Metallic Red - Black Tridion - Black Leather. Also fog lights, funny little instrument cluster mounted on the dash (Tach is good, but the clock is redundant - both look like toys), and two dealer add-ons to increase their profit margin (that I would not have ordered but had to take to get the car). Actually, I'm not upset about that because I would have paid that much over sticker as a premium to get it early. I've got 90 miles on it so far - this car is COOL!
I'll post more details in the "delivery" forum and will have pictures soon.

Congrats! The Passion with comfort package is my favorite choice. I love the roof and the auto sensing lights/wipers. (A word to the wise - don't use Rain-X on your roof use something like Plexus [find at Amazon].) I have a friend with the Red/Black combo and it looks really good.
