Hi to another early reserver in SF I'll tell you one thing, I don't think I'd drive the Smart today with these winds, it is crazy!

I saw 5 parked cars in 3 blocks with trees fallen over on them. 60+mph wind gusts could be scary in a fortwo, especially with stock tires.

Good call Bob.;) But like S. Jersey, property in SF is so precious that below the 101 Freeway is now considered a prime location. Gentrification transformed the area, but I should note that the powered service area door in the background can close in about 1.5 seconds.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I stopped by SF Mercedes and the Smart area looks ready to go! It is on the second floor, and is pretty much just missing swag, brochures and more cars (all that is there is two identical Passion coupes you can poke around). Besides that it looks ready to flip the switch on and add sales staff.

Spoke with Bill Scott who is the Smart sales manager and he was very nice, says the first cars should be there in the next couple of weeks and he expects to formally open some time after that, I think he said maybe the 22nd or 26th (can't recall now)- but it is not exactly a firm date as of yet. He expects to let a list of the first orders arriving and the info to call those people in the next week.

Thanks for the warm welcome! The smart looks great (IMO) in the silver and black... thanks for the pictures. I definitely need a car that gets better gas mileage. My daily driver is a lifted Jeep Wrangler that gets 12-13 mpg
