New to smart car (and forums)

hello! i wanted to find ways to figure out how to better enjoy my smart car, my only problem is i am new to the concept of internet forums so i am afraid i jsut dont know where to start.

i just got my smart car pure a few days ago, and i havent finished scouring the manual, but i am sort of just looking for some helpful tips or something that we all should know or somethign of that nature.

thanks!

well, hello Mr. Super Fighting Robot with a Pure smart..... the forums are great if you use the search function. Many questions you may have have been answered in detail previously by someone. But if you don't seem to find what you need, Just ask and we will put our collective minds to it and solve it for you in 3 to 4 years...... LOL welcome to the asylum.. enjoy your stay!

Hi and welcome, love the name, can't say it without an oriental accent though, it reminds me of the Simpsons episode where they were having fits with the flashing cartoon images.
I am from a little place near Hamilton, but in Scotland, hehe.

A few tips, well, drive the car in manual, as auto is rubbish, it takes a lot of getting used to, but once you know your way round the box the car changes well.
To speed up and smooth out the changes, fit a sports air filter, a few of the dealers are on here, so it is easy to find one.
Be nice to people asking about your car, it may be the 10th time that day you have been asked about it, but it is their first, so get used to leaving early to allow extra question time.
Most of all enjoy your little car and go to some of the meets and meet some other weirdo's.

I am going to ingratiate myself to this site's supporting vendors by stating that I have found it very enjoyable to personalize the car and enhance its performance.

I loved to tinker with cars when I was a young man, but over the past 35 years, I have pretty much left all my vehicles stock. This Smart Car, however, has re-ignited my gear-head gene (I think that is because the little guy when stock didn't quite have enough power to get out of its own way).

My new Smart Jones is beginning to annoy my wife... but hey, that's part of the fun!

Yes!! Welcome to the party. I have been on this for almost 2 years while waiting for my cab. I wanted to see what the pluses and minuses of the car were. You will learn what to watch out for, what people love about their car. fun things to add on your Smart. And oh those hypermilers, you will hear about the gas mileage that Smarts get. I thought I would be somewhat of a hypermiler but since I got mine, it's just so fun to buzz around in it. It's hard to drive easy.
first tank 42.26 going from Dallas to Austin @ 70-75 MPH, second tank around town 31. I was happy.
Definitely check out the different Smart clubs. It's a hoot to see a bunch of Smarts coming down the road or all parked at a resturant.
Good luck you have made a Smart decision.

Hints on the search, It works best if you know what folks have said before, So for new folks it ain't all that great. One thing I do is but in a 3 letter word Like USB. The search engine won't find 3 letter words and will give you the option to fo a wed or SCOA search using Google. The Google search works well.

But If you cant find what your looking for go ahead and ask, someone will be by to point you in the right direction, and others will give their opinions freely.

Enjoy your new car and just don't ask how big the gas tank is.

Well, that's your take on it . . . however, your doctors tend to think along different lines. But hey, at least we know you here!
Oh, yeah - welcome to the robot - long may you fight.
