New Smart Owner

Greetings All Smart people!
I just purchased my first Smart Car and have been excited to take my new ride to work everyday for the past week since the purchase.
I'm curious of good companies to purchase "bling" parts for my 2009 Brabus Cab Convertable.
I am also curious about if anyone knows more about the "Brabus" Smart Car. I was told this is "top of the line" and to compare it to the Mercedes "top of the line" car. Since I have a S500 I don't have "top of the line" but a nice Mercedes.
The car I just purchase seems very basic, with all the basic equipment - no special stereo equipment, no special dash or exterior paint job. It's so basic that I noticed the carpet near the drivers foot peddles is not even attached well to the frame.
What make this car a $22,000 + vehicle??
Thanks for any imput you have.

Welcome to the forums. There are a LOT of people that have modded their Smarts (Brabus or not) and you will be able to find a lot of ideas and examples in the Smart Car Modifications part of the forums

First, Welcome to the forum! Second, Whom ever it was who told you to compare the smart Brabus to a top of the line Mercedes should be fired.

The Brabus smart is a smart Passion with some Brabus Bling, and that's it. No engine tuning, no suspension tuning, no upgrades sound system or sound deadening, just some body parts and wheels.

But, it does have Brabus badging!!

Thats 1/2 riight.

The Brabus does come with extra bling that if purchased seperatly would run the bill up higher than what you paid, and the engine is not tuned any differently. But it does come with a different tail pipe and much improved suspention.

As for compairing it to a high end Mercedes, well thats just crazy talk. What you have is a high end smart.

The sound system has a lot of room for improvement. The smarts radio 9 and 10 are not high end. Smart is gogin to be teaming with Kenwood in the future to provide a better option, and that is something you can do on your own. Lots of threads in the interiors Modification section on that.

As to your carpet, for 22K I would mention that to your dealer. The floor covering is kind of thin, but notice it is one peice from the tail to the nose.

Enjoy it for what it is, a zippy little convertable that you can open and close at any speed and park just about anywhere. And gets better MPG than any other convertable on the market today at any cost.
