Newbie Greetings from Olympia, WA

Hello Everyone!

Ummm... sorry to convey that I am not yet a fortunate owner of a Smart Fortwo. I am hugely interested in the soon to be release BRABUS models.... leaning towards the classic black colored version if the truth be told. Anyway, my current plan to is coordinate an order and purchase during mid 2010.

A little about myself (as for introduction): I'm retired military (2004) and live in Olympia, Washington.... and work at Fort Lewis, Washington (I'm a Department of the Army Civilian employee). I drive a 2001 Jaguar S-type; I'm the original owner and purchased it for myself back in 2001 as a sort of self-gift (big surprise that, no? ). I was grew-up in Michigan... heck, everyone on my Father's side of the family works for General Motors Corporation (to include my identical twin brother, no kidding), yet other than a six year stint with a Chevrolet Silverado truck, I've never been much into GM vehicles. Go figure?

Anyway, next year I really, REALLY intend to get myself into a Smart fortwo vehicle, come Hades or high water . The wife isn't really too excited about that proposition.... my getting rid of my Jaguar for a small commuter car.... but then again, she doesn't ever have to drive it if she doesn't care to, right??!!!

Enough of my babbling already. I greatly look forward to communicating with some of you, and am not too looking forward to the exercise in patience I'm forcing onto myself by waiting until 2010 to get myself into one of these fantastic, wonderful vehicles.

~Gary

Welcome, Gary!

The Brabus is reality, not a s"soon to be", so why wait?

Hope you will join us for a smart meet once you get yours.

Suze.

btw - do you know bigcritter?

Hello Suze!

Ummmm.... I don't know anyone that goes by the nickname "bigcritter" personally.

You asked me why I should wait on a 2010 Brabus? Well, ummm.... my initial thoughts are that certain options may be available with that Smart platform the year following its introduction to the United States.

I'm also learning that apparently the Brabus is kind of a limited production item. If that's not really so, I'd like to know.

Thank you so much for saying hello! FWIW, I purchased my Jaguar S-type from a Portland dealer.

~Gary

Now that gas is $2/gallon, I have seen many Brabus models sitting on car lots for weeks.
It is rumored that a TURBO Brabus will make its way here in 2010, though it is just a rumor...
I saw a new 2009 Brabus on eBay last week, and nobody even bid on it, God knows I have been trying to sell my Passion for 3 months without any luck.
Best of luck in your search.
