Newbie in Tulsa - Smart Car of America Forums : Smart Car Forum

So I was all set to pick up a scooter this week when my wife calls me up and says, "hey, lets go take a look at the Smart Car first"... (I knew she was a good one when I married her). Went by Jackie Cooper Imports in Tulsa where they have a few on display and had just recieved a shipment over the weekend to be delivered to a few lucky owners.

We both took the test drive and came back with smiles from ear to ear. So, today at lunch I will be headed down there to put my order in. Nothing fancy, a basic white pure with A/C and the sunroof panel. I'm a fan of small interesting cars and this will be a nice addition to the current collection of an MX-5, 914, M3, 55 Chev (not so small), and Nissan Frontier.

I have already started looking for wheels and accessories to make my Pure my own. I hope the gang on this forum will help guide me in the right direction, custom is the name of my game as I can't leave well enough alone....

Thanks gang, I usually hang out on Bimmerforums where I helped start a local BMW club, BMW Motorsports OF Oklahoma, yeah, BMWMOFO... HA! Is there a coordinated chapter or group of Smartie owners in Oklahoma? I love to take weekend drives with fellow owners and enthusiasts, and I'm sure this Pure will become yet another addiction as have my other projects....

I know there was one silver/black cabrio there and possibly an all black one up on the display area, I guess you are expecting yours just any day now? Congrats!!!

So what do you guys do for a year while you wait? I'm still going to get a cheapy Chinese scooter I think, surely it will last a year until the smartie gets here...

Welcome, mrdezyne: I also live in Tulsa. You are making a great choice. Be sure and have Lori at Tulsa Smart Car Center put you on their "orphan list". You never know, you might get one earlier that way.

I just got an email from Tulsa and they said it was incoming within the next 10 days. So, we will see.

Lori, she's the redhead right? I did get my name on the list, thanks. She said I had a pretty good chance of getting an orphan since I ordered such a plain jane model, she said most people want particular items or colors, I just want a new smartie!
