News on replacement Sunshades

Talked to my dealer today (Santa Barbara, CA.) about replacing my broken sunshade. He informed me that they aren't going to replace the sunshades with stock replacement sunshades anymore. Smart has redesigned them and they will be available in about 3 weeks!!

That sounds like good news to me. I hope they work a lot better.

I'm in need of one. My back left rail fell out so i tried to fix it by unscrewing the left side. I took it down but then something else got loose and i didnt know how to wind the thread back up so I just put the rail back, wound up the thread and screwed it back up. Now i have a closed non functional sun shade. =( I will call my dealer to look into this new replacement sunshade.

Wait a minute - if it's closed it is indeed shading you from the sun - so it's not really "non-functional"

what it is is non-adjustable!

Very true, its very functional then. I never looked at it from the half-full glass perspective.

that's great news! I'm on my 3rd sunscreen and it makes the most embarassing squeeking noise when I close it. My friends look at me like "really?"

Hey guys and gals....

Here is an option we have recently introduced. We have had nothing but great feedback on the shade. It is designed to work with the factory shade. In case you are interested or a bit curious here is the link:

Sun Roof Shade

Thank you... :-)

this is good news...I hope that smart decides to retro-fit all of us who still have the first generation shade...
