hmmm. very interesting email from SmartUSA this morning after i inquired about the alleged replacement sunshade.

My dealer's service manager told me a long time ago that the shade was a known problem and it was to be changed. There is a good chance that what came from smartUSA (which isn't smartUSA, Bloomfield) is another example of the nummies in the Internet Brands boileroom at El Segundo pulling more bum dope out of their back pocket.

can someone who knows bloomfield get a straight answer then? my dealer says one does not exist and smartusa.com says one does not exist. yet smart owners still insist one exists.

if one does indeed exist, i will need some corroboration to motivate my dealer to accept that statement as fact.

My smart center still acknowledges that the sunshade deal is a recognized and widespread problem. Their local procedure had been to remove and service the original under warranty, and if it continued to have problems to replace it. But replacements have ceased being supplied and only backorders are being processed. They interpret that as all the originals have been removed from the system and re-designed replacements are not yet available.
