Ok from MD Metro DC area finally joined!

Sorry that I haven't Joined until now. Yes I've had my Smart Car for 11 months. I just didn't have time to Join or participate in any Smart functions. I'm ready to take my Smart Car out of winter hiding and cruise around town. I love driving my Smart even though I haven't clocked that many miles and she still has the new car smell that will change this summer as I plan on driving all the time. I love the fact that gas prices are going up for the summer months.....um....well no....I just don't mind the gas prices going up because I know that my Smart just sips the gas like a cool Margarita on a late summer evening. I'm glad to say that I've seen a few more Smarts on the Maryland roads within the last few months. Any Smarts that want to cruise around MD Metro DC area let me know.

I am going to guess that you have a 450 Diesel (due to your 85MPG title)?

I have a 451 cabrio blue body panels/black tridion/black interior
VA license "CABR10".

I live in Tyson's Corner, and commute daily to Bethesda (NIH).

I also work part time at the Tyson's Corner Smart Center.

Put me on the list for ride. I got my smart in Feb and already have over 6K miles! Last weekend I drove over 4 hours up to Pittsburgh, PA. It ran pretty good up and down the hills (I have some trouble calling them mountains) through the rain. At some points I was going 80 MPH... Just trying to go with the flow of the traffic officier!

I just joined too. I'll admit it was mainly for the swatch contest, but I am quite interested in trying out a Smart car. Lookng around the site, it's bringing back memories of my favourite small car - a Fiat Cinquecento I used to drive which was probably the most fun little car I ever owned.

I might just have to go for a test drive ...

First and foremost thanks for the welcome. As far as my Smart getting the max MPG I haven't kept tabs on my miles vs. fill ups. I've heard of some getting up to 60mpg which would be Max with the non-diesel American Smarts. To make it clear I don't have the diesel model. I just have the regular gas 450 model. My MD License plate = "85MPG" is to just start conversation and make people really think about the SMART. Also to screw with all the trucks and SUVs in a fun way. I'm down with doing a Sat. or Sun. get together to cruise DC in the near warm sunny future. Is there any Mid-Atlantic (Metro DC even B-More MD) Region Chief that would like to put this together?
