Reserved on-line on 4/21 after test driving at Lincolnwood with Billy Cooper. Great guy even remembered me a week later when I brought in a friend to test drive one.Sent off an e-mail today to him so hope to hear back soon.I saw a white/silver with red interior and liked the combo with so I am "updating" my orphan's list as to what I will look at and what I won't. As anyone had the Tridion shell painted to match the panel color yet? I was thinking about it after seeing the solid color cars in the gallery.

Forgot- my res # is 1572!!! UGH!!! I want to go to Spain this fall but that all depends on when I get a Smartcar. I would like to be able to plan for vacation but I also want to pay as much cash for the car as I possilbly can. If I have to wait for my "reserved" car; and thats up to 18 months, I can go and still pay cash for the car, but if its sooner I'll have to put off vacay for another year and put that money on the car. That is the problem with Smartcar's system. I can't make any expensive plans until I have some idea of when I'll get a car.

With one out of three cars being "orphaned" by the original deposit holders, I am sure that there are going to be plenty around by the end of the summer. Getting around an excessive amount of add-ons may be a different issue.

Went to the dealer tuesday for a test drive, went back the next afternoon so my wife could test drive and drove away with an orphan 2 hours later. I guess it can be done and I'm phenominally lucky!!!!

I'm picking up my "tomato" on Monday,was on the list less than 7 weeks. Do you know if there are any "Smart groups" in Chicago?

I bought mine and it was an "Orphan". Folks get tired of waiting and buy something else. So the "Orphan" wait can be less than ordering one. I had to wait about 2 months. No real input on color or options but they let you turn down one or two. In any case, I got a yellow Cabriolet and love it.

My first tank gave me 38.6 mpg but the second tank resulted in an even 43 mpg. Got to fill up this afternoon. Current mileage is 700+.
