Who said you needed 3 estimates? Most insurance companies have their own adjusters that work with the body shop. Neither the insurance company or the dog's owner gets to choose where you go to get your car fixed.

Can't help you in Boise. But if you were in Birmingham, I know a few places.

There's is a group of at least four 450/451 owners in BOI-- I would try them for local knowledge. They have a website.

There was a dealer in town that was selling the 450's.

I am in Boise, and along with about 30 other smart car owners, we formed the smart car club of Idaho. What type of damage does your car have? I can recommend a good mechanic that works on the cars in Boise, but as far as I know, none of the body shops locally have experience repairing a smart car. What kind of damage was done? Interior? Exterior? If it just need new exterior panels or seat upholstery, you can contact the smart center in Lindon, Utah or Portland, Oregon for cost estimates on the parts.

Gotta watch those German Shepherds - they like to carry things off and bury them - after they've chewed them to bits! My daughter has one that's eaten lots of strange things . . .

Good thing your car wasn't a Ford or GM -- the attacking dog would have been an American pitbull.
