Owner's Manual

Hello all! We just ordered a new Passion Coupe in Mexico. We are excited, delivery is next week. Can't wait.

Our problem is that our owner's manual will be in Spanish. Duh!
Is there a way to order a new owner's manual in English? We have an address in the U.S. where it can be shipped.

You would probably be better off getting an English language, Euro manual instead of the North American manual. We are apparantly not deemed qualified to posess some of the information in the Euro version. Your Mexican smart will be more like the Euro Contenental smart than the NA.

Just FYI, the owner's manual for 450 and the 451 are available on this very site:
at left, under "Site Navigation" submenu...
Just download it to your computer and you'll find that, with the search function, it is much more useful than the index of the printed copy.

I have a 451 manual in PDF format that I'd be happy to email you, if you like. Be aware however, it's 4.5mb in size so you probably want to block out a slow period if you're on dial-up to receive it.

It's much better than the itty-bitty screen that is presented by the manual listed on here. . .

This one is just a port to a fullscreen version that gets downloaded every time you open it. You may want to store it.

Does Mexico have a waiting list too to get smart cars

Hi Dubblxtc - Mexico has been importing smart cars for awhile now, so they are not necessarily a hot new item. We were put on a wait list May 16, and we should receive it any day now.

Shipments are fewer and farther between since the market has opened up in the U.S. I don't believe a Mexican smart can be imported to the U.S. permanently.

Seriously though, please let us know how you like it and it you don't mind, how much they sell for in Mexico.
