Paid membership?

Am I correct in what I hear that you can only post a certain number of threads before having to pay for this community site?

Hi there is a paid membership if you would like. Otherwise, you can be a non paying member and read and write as you please. At least that's how I do it for now. Will probably join once I finally get my smart. hope this helps.

Eh, I just thought having advertisers fund the forums a better idea than the members. No matter though, I'm good with what I have access to.

I disagree. I went into another smart forum and you get an advertisement in every thread you open. It was ridiculous. With a paid membership here, you get access to one more forum, a different color for your name (blue) and the ability to add a stupid (like mine) or clever phrase below your name.

This forum is quite open and free. There is added content for those who want to be a paid member (and it does help the exhausted administrator a bit). Plus you get the added cachet of being a SCOA member with all kinds of cool perks in the works

I agree that if not done properly the adds are bothersome. www.northamericanmotoring.com handled it well, but it's just a matter of choice. No matter to me really. I would like to see family memberships instead of individuals however. In any case, as I stated to Ryan privately, this is a well put together site, and in comparison to my local Jeep club, the membership fees are quite reasonable. Theirs is $45. I paid it once, but likely will not renew. I spend too much time in my road cars and not enough playing in the mud.
