Picking up Grey Metallic/Blk Pure tmrw! Am I *really* paying MSRP?

I know, I am. It hurts my brain thinking about it, but I've waited a long time for smartie, I'll get over it.

When y'all picked up yours, they just went straight off the sticker, and you just paid it- no questions, no back and forth at all?

Another question- the only option I got on my Pure is a/c. I'll need a radio. Can I go into Car Toys or Ultimate Electronics and get any old stereo? Will they have the pieces needed, or do I first buy the dash kit? And the wire kit thing?

I'm nervous about getting used to the shifting

No back and forth unless you want to add options like warranty and etc... As for the dash kit some places stock it and some dont. I would check with the shop first. Also dont worry about the shifting its much better in the 09 and you will get use to it quickly.

yep, MSRP is MSRP. Grin and pay it, its worth it! As for the radio, why not just get a radio 9 or radio 10 from someone on here. Some people dont seem to be happy with them but I actually like my radio 10 alot. 6 disk changer, mp3 capable and plug-and-playable for less than $100, how can you go wrong. You should have the speakers and plugs already there.

Oh yeah, be sure to post a pic of the grey color

There are almost always OE smart radios for sale on ebay along with universal installation kits for DIN radios.

Not to high jack the thread, but the speakers come with the Pure even if you DON'T order the radio?

If you're handy get a single DIN radio and just cut an opening in the insert that's already there. That way you can keep the storage space underneath. You'll need a european to US antenna adapter and a harness, you can us a VW one BUT you will have to rewire it for the smart. EASIEST car I have ever put a stereo into.

I know Im bringing back an old thread, but I guess in the beginning they meant MSRP is the price you bet your butt your paying. But I recently bought an 09, in their "value Days" sale, managed only 700$ off sticker with free velor mats and having her order from the port. I think itll be nice to know what deals others have gotten.

No negotiation on the price, but my smart dealer threw in the 6 cd smart radio for free, also had special financing available. I have to get a bargain or it is hard to pull the trigger.

Congrats on your new smart! I paid MSRP too, but the 1.9% financing made it less painful. I also got the Kenwood radio which is not cheap, but I am addicted to satellite radio and need Bluetooth for talking on the telephone. It also has navigation, dvd/cd player and iPod hook up. This is more than I need, but I am glad I got it. It was about $1700 (the dealer shared in some of the cost), but it looks great and it was installed by Kenwood through Milwaukee's smart dealer so it should be done correctly. At least it fits and there are no wires hanging out anywhere.

Good luck deciding.
