Picking up a new Cabriolet tonight

Greetings All!

My wife has been bugging me about a convertible, and after a lot of research and the new 1.9 financing just announced, we signed for a new red Cab this weekend. We are trading in a 5 YO Honda Civic Hybrid with manual transmission. My wife wants automatic, I like stick, so I am pleased with the tranny in the Smart since it acts very much like the Honda stick and the performance will be similar to the Hybrid.

My other vehicle is a Ford F350 King Ranch dually, so we are a bit bi-polar. But that covers us for hauling and a rear seat, so we decided to go with the Smart and have some fun.

I am a fan of new technologies and also own a Piaggio Mp3 500 3-wheel scooter, also in red.

Now if I could find a way to link the two together... hmm.

Cheers!

The weather in Florida right now is perfect for your purchase! If you didn't get the heated seats (Florida, after all) you may actually use the cabrio less on the (relatively) chilly mornings.

One of the spectacular things about the smart convertible and Florida weather: the frequent rains are no problem. You can put up the top when the sprinkles start while cruisin' on the highway.

Fun and a cheap data at the gas station! Since you have the hauler already, what more could you want?

Congratulations! Sounds like you have the best of both worlds. My other vehicle is also a crew cab, 4WD truck for more passengers, cargo, and towing.

If you're interested in tracking and sharing your gas mileage, we always need a few more smart owners on Fuelly.com.

Well hopefully this will stop the convertible vs. sunroof fights. I have to watch sun exposure and a convertible in FL is not a real advantage to me, so seeing the top can be placed in infinite positions for some air is ideal. My wife on the other hand wants to put the top back at a whim, regardless of the sun or outside temperature. She can do that whenever she wants and I am not around!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. I'll bet you'll soon find the smart logging the most miles with the truck reserved for those occasions when you need to haul bulky stuff or a crowd of folks.

We are enjoying the Cabriolet very much so far. Have one slightly annoying rattle that comes and goes, but have not pinpointed it yet, though it seems to be the driver side window rail.
