Potential Pure Purchase - Preguntas?

I started thinking about get a Smart a week ago, and joined this forum a few days later. From reading posts here, browsing the Smart USA web site and several ads on eBay, I formed the following wish list: Black pure with black Tridion cell, stereo, AC and heated seats.

Today, I visited the local dealer and they've got one orphaned Pure: Crystal White with black Tridion, stereo, AC ad EPS.

It's closer than it looks - I was always planning to get white panels, thinking I'd go with 6 months with each, so the color is no biggie. I'd love the heated seats, but to be honest I lived for 45 years without them.

So question: does anyone know how much labor is charged for swapping the panels, or does everyone do it themselves? What with it being winter, it'd be more convenient for me to have it done if it's not an arm and a leg. If it's pricey, I can hold off until the weather warms up.

My understanding is that its a few hours work that get less with experience. The dealer tells me that there are a bunch of clips that inevitably get broken in the process and have to be replaced. I bet your looking at 2 or 3 bills in labor.

I had my panels swapped by the dealer and it cost 2 hours labor (about $200). I thought it was fair.

Oh, and on the heated seats... Just because you've lived without them doesn't me you won't love them.

Let us know what you get and post pics!

I do love them - I've got them in my BMW, and I like how they keep you warm until the heater kicks in. I don't know if it's worth passing on the car, though. If I really miss them, I can go aftermarket for a couple hundred bucks.

...and it's a done deal.

I just got back from the dealership. No pictures until Monday, when I pick it up; they need to finish the dealer prep. To tide everyone over, here is a picture of it's garage-mate:

People are always taking pictures of my M Coupe, asking about it, etc. It'll be nice to drive something low-key once in a while. ;)

Low key??? Let me know how that works out for you. You'll get just as many questions if not more about your new toy. Congrats... and by the way, that M is very nice!!!
