Question (studded tires)

I have a smart car...just bought it a month ago...I want to get studded snow tires for the winter.....any clues

...welcome to the asylum Ronnieh...not too many options on the subject but if you do a search and go to show post you'll find many threads on the issue way back then when they were needed....

The tire sizes are not too uncommon. Try the local tire dealer. Most sttes do not allow studded tires, at least Minnesota banned them years ago. Tears up the streets too much.

I'm out in Montana. Got my smart last year and I was not able to find any studded tires.
Six of us got the Bridgestone Blizzak tires for the winter and could not have been happier.
We live in the mountains and never had a problem on ice or snow.
Might want to buy early as they ran out of the smart size in our area.

Studded Snow tires 185/55/15 are Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4; Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5, and Hankook W409 i-Pike. In size 185/60/15 there is the Firestone Winterforce & Nokian Nordman 2. There might be others. I'm posting a thread about this in the tire and wheel section.
