Raising my hand to be counted!

As of Saturday (3/14) I became another new owner of a Smart Passion! I had an EXTREMELY wonderful experience at the dealership (hi to Joe the salesguy in Bloomington, MN!) and even likened it to my prior experience as an Infinity owner. Having the purchase (and post purchase) experience be great makes a HUGE difference in the enjoyment of the car, at least I think so.

I've got one quick question - I haven't yet found mention of it in the manual, or with select keyword searches on this site. On either side of the dome light there are small vents... what are those? Speakers? Microphone? Air? I'm befuddled.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and am considering the meetup in town on 3/20, hopefully schedules will allow.

Welcome to the family of smart and SCOA! Enjoy that new ride! I don't think the vents are anything but air circulation for the dome light, but perhaps someone here knows better.

If you're interested in tracking and sharing your fuel mileage, we can always use a few more smarts on Fuelly.com.

Man, you sound psyched!
Know what? You ain't seen nothing yet.

Welcome to the forum!

Now for your first disappointment: I haven't a clue, but will check on my Passion in the morning, (the vent question).

And yes, they are just circulation vents (hooked to nothing !!)

Thanks all!
Just empty vents for the dome light, eh... hmmm... I'll have to take a look at things in the morning, wondering if I could route a mic up there for hands free cell phone use.

And yeah, TOTALLY PSYCHED! My boy too (he's six). He immediately indicated a purchase of a matching "shiny red" booster seat was required. We now have the biggest smiles of all when we go out on our "daddy & son date nights" :-)

Also ordered an ecometer - the boy's job (too give him something to do) will be to let me know if I fall too far away from economical driving.

(I can't wait for morning to drive to work!)
