Go to your smart center and ask them to put you on their Orphan List. When an orphan becomes available they'll call you and let you know.

Not all dealers maintain an orphan list as such - Edison NJ said they used to but it got to be too much of a hassle. I've received email from them twice when they've had some orphans available; and the salesman who I talked to called me as well the second time

Any others in the mid-atlantic or northeast area have any success stories of nabbing an orphan?

Me... I live in upstate NY and got a call for an orphan two weeks after I was on the list. I have a neighbor who has been called several times from the same dealer about orphans, and he kept declining until they had the one he wanted. My dealer is in Latham NY.

I could have had one essentially the next day after I walked in - though the sticker shock and the possibility that turned into my current one made me wait. (They happened to be ready to rotate the test drive mule). It's all in the timing

Mine...

I reserved May 2008 and they told me it would arrive here between September 2009-November 2009. I went to the dealer in Alexandria VA and they said they weren't keeping an orphan list, you just had to show up at the right time to get one. I had no interest in that, so I went to the dealer in Vienna VA (Tysons Corner) and was on a list for 2+ months before an orphan became available to me.
