Shake down cruise

We are quickly learning about our new Smart - thought we would combine learning with breaking in our new car - here is the result - a circle trip around the Olympic Peninsula.

Shakedown Trip

Wow!

Thanks for posting - Vancouver is such a great area and the photos show it. Glad you opted for the tach and clock pods, thanks for showing the smart and Mini together (classic Mini owner here) and how do you have your GPS mounted on the dash - very popular forum topic.

Beautiful! What a great, fun trip!

Did you actually drive on the sand at Long Beach or just drive out for the pictures?

I'm so jealous!

I just love the Limited Edition especially the interior! I really wish that something else besides black leather were offered for the comfort package here in the US. The pale blue metallic is very pretty, too. Looks like you had lots of fun on your 'tour'. Thanks for the photos.

Answers to a couple questions

Yes, we did drive on the sand at both Ocean Shores and Long Beach

The GPS is mounted on top of the radio housing using a metal disk that is held in place with adhesive. The GPS uses a suction mount and is easily removed for use in our other vehicle.

Saw your post when you got your car over on the Canadian Smart site. I love that LE. I had a Civic Hybrid the same exterior color and it was beautiful. What I like even more about your car is the interior, classy color.

I absolutely LOVE your post........and the photos! What a wonderful adventure! I wanted to mention that if you're back down in Ocean Shores, there's a shop there that sells the BEST saltwater taffy you ever tasted. The different flavors actually DO taste like what they say! I TOTALLY agree with you about the stretch of I-5 being so rough. I HATE going up that way in my smart, and always avoid it when possible, even if it means taking a longer route. As you said, it's rough enough in a larger car, but with a car the size of the smart, it'll rattle your teeth out!! Not good........not good at all!! I really look forward to having the time to do a trip like that in my smart! At least it'll be taking a (much shorter) trip up to Whidbey Island soon, and subsequently........his FIRST ferry ride!! Really, REALLY enjoyed your post. If you're ever going to be down around Olympia, WA.....give us a shout!
