I take that back. I think he got the "Sport Edition" spare wheel/tire.

Its another Pound but a few bucks less, with a cool factor that shouldn't be tossed out on a spare

I take a lot of surveys and polls and this one was the most confusing I have ever seen. I voted spare since I had to presume you were asking if we had either or wanted either from Penske. I have both, plus a jack, plus a bag, plus hand cleaner and rags. When I commute with my smart it is at least 50 miles one way, on Interstate highways and I don't want it sitting along the road for the three days it would take for Tire Rack to get me a replacement (five if it happened on a Friday night), nor do I want it being winched by the towing jerks I have met and left in a lot for everyone to be getting into to "just look at it".

I've had many cycles and understand the no spare thing. However I was younger and naive then and now I know how bad your toys can be abused by others when you leave them unguarded.

I figure if I can be prepared I will do what is necessary even if the manufacturer of the car is too cheap to protect me. And I have driven in Europe several times and if I lived there I'd have a spare too since there are places where you are not in the city for kilometers and kilometers.

My assumption is that "Wrench", in this case, is slang for a mechanic.
So, the poll is "Spare (Tire)" or "Wrench (Mechanic/Tow Truck)"

Just IMHP.

That's right, I have the Sport.

It cost something like $10 more than the Pure steel wheel, weighs considerably less, and is definitely better looking. Although I haven't done it yet, I'm probably going to get rid of it and go with Ultraseal. Let's face it, the fortwo doesn't have a surplus of space, and the spare gobbles up too much of what there is.

If you do go the spare route, you would be best served by a deep socket 15 mm. FWIW, when I get the Ultraseal installed, I'll be looking for someone who wants my spare.

I have a wrench, a jack, and a spare in my pocket. It's called a cellphone. And I thought I was backwards.

I knew you'd catch this thread later on today.

+1 on the deep socket OR make sure you have an extension for your ratchet and shallow well. Total PITA to tighten/loosen with a regular ratchet and shallow well plus you scratch the heck out of your rims.

My "spare tire for trips carrier" came one step closer to reality today thanks to Craigslist. I found an important piece that I needed very much.
