Is the smart up to wisconsin weather?

Ok for all you people that own one. We are getting killed with snow this year. We are expecting another 6-13" sunday night. I have a ford escort zx2 that I have had for 10 years now and I have never got stuck. I have to dvive 22 miles each way to work every day. Will the smart handle all of this snow or should I look for a larger car? This will be my only vehicle to take to work. I have reserved a smart in early feburary. Thanks

Eagerly awaiting responses... I'm in a similar position. 25 mile commute in a Ford Focus. This winter snow has not been fun, but it has been doable. Hoping the smart will handle it at least as well.

I just drove my 2003 Matrix from Green Bay to Milwaukee in a snow storm just to test drive a new Smart, I got mine reserved back in march 07 and still waiting, I thing I'll be keeping my matrix since I have racked up 120,000 with no problems at all! I gotta say Toyota makes a great automobile but I couldn't resist the fourtwo!

Just read a post elswhere on this website from an owner in Vermont who was very happy with snow performance, even with the stock tires. Get snow tires, you should be all set with help from ABS and ESC so long as you don't park your rear drive wheels in a snowbank or try to go up a steep slope on glare ice. Eric Metzler - reservation on day 1356, waiting for a dealer call . . .

I took my test drive in horrible snowy condition, was kinda scared i'd wreck it so I drove slow but the dealer guy drove a bit faster and said it handles great and he hasn't been able to spin it around even though he tried by dowing fishtails on the ice.
