Smarter for us. - heater in Nebraska winters?

My name is Frankie my wife's name is Esmey, we are going to attempt to buy an orphan car this spring.
We live in Omaha and I have a concern, is this engine air cooled, and if so, will the heater be able to stand up to Nebraska's harsh winters?

Thank you Sir!
Does it stand up well to cold climes, the heater that is..lol.!

Are these heaters good enough to stand a Nebraska Plains winter or do we need to order heated seats?

One rascal said the seat burned his arse, I guess there is always leaving mine off and letting my wife warm herself up quicker.
PS. Would like to here from the cold clime drivers, butt all input is greatly appreciated!

The heaters are good but the heated seats are divine! I'd go for the heated seats.

Agreed on the heated seats, not as cold over here next to the ocean but very nice on cold mornings or when the back starts to ache on a long drive.

There is a high and low setting for the seat heaters. Just press the button accordingly.

I'm sure WV cold is no where near Nebraska cold, but in recent cold weather (morning temps in the teens), the smart seemed to heat up pretty quick and had no problems putting out a lot of heat through the ventilation system. It quickly becomes unbearable at the higher settings, at least on mine. Of course, there is always the heated seats if you want those.

Get heated seats. Take a while to heat up, But then it gets hot in the car.

Love the heat in the car, Set the temp and forget it. No more hitting it on Full, then lowering it down, then raising it back up.

It doesn't take a lot to heat the small cabin.

I have a farm outside of Gretna so I know the temps you are talking about. It should do fine, especially if you get the heated seats.

Just a thought...There are also small electric 12volt heaters that work similar to a hair dryer. I use one of them as supplemental heat in a 1970 VW Beetle convertible.

It's just been down to 10-12 so far in NW CT. At those temps, the heated seats are great. When the heat kicks in as the engine warms up, you have to turn it way down after a short while or you'll melt. My guess is that you'll do just fine.
