Back in 2007, I reserved a Smart Passion, Received in August of 2008. Have loved it since. As I live in a small community, it took 3 hours just to get home, most of this time was due to being stopped by others with questions! There are now 3 in town, still get stopped a lot, love the attention. Have been on one long trip, unfortunately through a southern tropical storm, was interesting with 70 mph winds, but totally enjoyed.
I would not trade my Passion for anything.
I ordered in March 2008, got my confirmation reply in Oct 2008 and went to the dealer and bought one that someone else did not pick up almost immediately. No way I was waiting for delivery of my original order.... I've been driving since, coming up on 1 1/2 years and 26,000 miles. I mainly drive a 42 mile each way commute, and get a very consistent 42-44mpg. The commute is combination of types of driving, small country roads, sometimes congested two lane state highways, and some interstate highway miles that also at times are backed up. I'm not trying to maximize mileage with driving technique, but do want to maintain my reason for buying the SMART to start with.
I was putting $80 weekly into the tank of my pickup (at a fairly respectable 24 mpg for that type of vehicle) and determined I wanted two thing:
1. the truck to last a number of years (it had 157000 miles)
2. A new car that mpg minimum started with a 4
The SMART has proven to do these things, I've never gotten fuel economy as low as the EPA max, not matter what sort of driving I do.

i bought a pure. basic smart car. love the city mileage. mine is a silver metalic color. so far very happy with car.
just traded my 2007 red passion for a 2008 black brabus. paid the same 15k for each (because sales have fallen so quickly) come on america, how can you not love these cars!
I was just talking with someone about this earlier. What's NOT to love?
I have mine now! I didn't order either. I ended up getting a great deal on a used 2009 crystal white Passion coupe. I found her totally by accident and it was like fate!
My wife and I have had our Smart Passion Coupe for two months now! We really love this car! We live at 6,000 ft above sea level, so I'm not sure this has an impact, but we are getting around 34 mpg.
The mileage is not as good as we thought it would be, but the flip side is, the car has much more power than we expected. We always seem to be driving above the speed limit; what's that all about?
Hi everybody this is my first post. I own a SMART Passion 2008 and love to get in arguments with people that don't understand why I have such a small car. My wife and I take it every where the first year I already put 21,000 miles on it and its already saving me money in gas, 45mpg on average.
