Your options are,

ECU Remap ~$700
New exhaust $350-$500
Air Intake $300 (cheaper one available though I believe)

I believe that's all that's available currently, and quite pricey IMO.

Give me a minute and I'll get some links...

Here we are,

ECU Remap from VP Veloce, link from 451s.com and here is VP Veloce's direct website.

There are a couple exhausts available, here is the link to the Doug Thorley single exit exhaust. Here is the link to the dual tip exhaust from Breathless Performance. BP also makes a single exit exhaust w/ hidden tip.

Here you can find an intake + K&N filter for the smart. Performance improvements are controversial however. BP also makes an air intake that attached to the side of the car.

I may have forgotten a couple of things, but this can get you started.

I sell DTH cat-backs and am located in Seattle. Free installation at your site while you wait, takes about an hour.

$349+tax

I'd be a bit wary of the air intake listed above... From everything I've read, a closed box system is really the better way to go due to the high air temps surrounding the small engine compartment. K&N does make a filter for the existing box... it's about $35 online... I should have mine by end of week.

Also, there's supposed to be a new exhaust comming out soon that's a bit quieter than the existing aftermarket exhausts yet still has the increased performance that you're looking for.

How loud are those compared to the BP ones? The BP was too loud for my taste...

Yup, this is exactly correct.

I believe BIGPERFORMANCE in UK is also selling a supercharger, so I guess it all depends on how pathetic you feel the car is. On youtube, someone transplanted a Hayabusa motorcycle engine, and the smart is now faster than a Ferrari at the drag strip. Sky is the limit !!!

I loved the tuff sound of the BP exhaust, but I run a business and I also thought it would be too loud so I got the Doug Thorley dual tip exhaust. You can hear a sample of both on youtube and the BP is for someone who wants to get noticed. The performance figures are exactly the same - it just comes down to your personal situation.

Well I am think about selling my 250whp 07 Tacoma D-cab with AFe intake and MBRP dual exhaust if you are interested. That should help you get up those hills.
