I know I'm nuts, I had no real "need" for the Smart Fortwo I just picked up this afternoon. I have a full size truck, V8 powered car, and Harley. I put the $99 down last March, my car has been in Detroit for a couple weeks, I've been stringing the dealership along, checking in on flipping it on ebay, selling it to a local broker. I couldn't do it, the car is bad ass, my wife who didn't want it hasn't let me drive it yet. Her only complaint is that she feels weird when people are taking pictures of the car and asking her about it.

They may say you are crazy. But I can almost guarantee you those people will be running over to check out your car when/if you get it.

smart envy.

Yet another reason I plan on waiting another couple of years...In that time, all the questions will have been answered.
I DON'T want the attention. I just want a fun, practical car to get me back and forth to work.
I really couldn't care less that it's "green" or that it's recyclable or some fashion statement. If that comes with the package...so be it.

I guess I'm just a cheapskate, cause if a plug-in makes it here, I'll have it.
I could stop buying gas COMPLETELY, then...I don't think that's crazy...

What do you all think is the most popular color? I am torn between the Red with silver, White with silver or blue with silver. Have you read about any of the options that aren't worth the extra money?

Well, I'm not crazy and my co-workers didn't think I was crazy when I first showed them the smart. All they had to say was "that's such a Perry's car" got me to reserve and now drive one. When I got my MINI back in late 02 they thought I was crazy since I was getting the smallest car on the road at that time. Now with the smart, they know me well enough

Yup. 'Still crazy after all these years.'

Taking a test drive next week. That will tell the tale.
