I'm a 14 month owner and all I have to say is my car ROCKS!!!!! I have never owned a car that after a year of driving still puts a smile on my face when I look at it. Hell when I see it in the parking lot walking out to it, I can't believe it's even mine(well mostly the banks but they let me drive it)

I have had no problems with mine, today I'm doing my second oil change and the only time I had my car at the dealer was to get the 09 trans upgrade and battery swap. As for gas mileage, mine isn't as good as most and thats due to my car has aftermaket goodies on it so that makes it hard to keep my foot out of it, With that said I still get 32mpg but the car is so fun to drive I would drive it if it got 12mpg.

If you think you want to get one, get it. I would get the passion over the pure ( not sayin anything bad about the pure ) thats just personal choice.

Last thing, alot of people want to prejudge our cars just on their size and looks, but smart owners understand the car, We Get It!! they don't have a clue, and until you get one, you won't understand what we as owners go through daily, the fun-O-metor is maxed out, after you drive yours for just one day, and you find yourself taking the long way home time and time again,Then and only then you too will Get It....

Just keepin it Real......

I've had mine for 2 months and had an oil leak which was quickly taken care of. Only have 1200 miles on it but love the car(Passion). I have a goldwing that I take to work(75 miles round trip)and it gets 48 on regular gas but at times I take the car because it is fun to drive. I agree with the others, that incentives are coming by year end to clear out the 09 models. But if I could do over, I would probably by 09 used just to save a few thousand dollars off new with still less than 5000 miles. Good luck.

I am a Pure owner and got rid of an 01 Mailbu to get the Pure. I had some minor things, but overall a very good car and a blast to drive. BTW i had mine of one year and three months.

Got another question. Where do I get replacement wear items, such as brake pads, rotors, belts and the such? From smart? I noticed the traditional auto parts stores, NAPA, advance auto, etc, do not carry these types of items, just light bulbs and wiper blades. I will be doing my own maintance, so this would be important to me.

Thanks again, Brian

Nicole just posted yesterday that they got five more in at smart car of pittsburgh, but they are all passions. Maybe they will discount the pure for you. I know the low financing deals have been extended until end of November. Check out the the Pittsburgh Smart Car Club at pittsburghsmartcarclub.ning.com

I'm going on 13 months with an '08 Passion coupe. I've got 7800 miles on it (I live close to work, a subway station, and have another car) - but they have been problem free (okay... the colored cap on the end of my turn signal lever is cracked and needs replaced). I'd do it over in a heartbeat.

Those wear items will come as demand picks up.

Still so new to this county not a lot of folks have had a need to have brakes replaced yet.

Some of the vendors here have performance upgrade items that will replace those items as well and you can always pick them up at the dealer when the time comes.

I have been seeing little thing being added to the computers at auto parts stores. It wasn't long ago they didn't even have oil filters in the system. Now I can go to my local Farm and Fleet and get a hitch put on.
