thanks padawan....your suggestion helped alot...... plus im notising im not luging like a bucking pronco for instance....when im slowing down and then i step on the gas i take off smooth....before it was like their was too much play in between the trany teeth

one more question from a newbie

in manual mode when i go through the gears(upshifting}.....should i be doing anything with the gas pedal....let up slightly? take my foot totally of? keep steady pressure?

Just drive it and have fun, there's no real right or wrong way. Your Smart won't let you do anything that's out of its pre- programmed range anyway, so you won't damage it. (Well, I wouldn't try to shift into reverse while going forward, or vice-versa - but it probably would block those actions too.I just wouldn't want to find out since some folks have had wierdness happen by shifting to the opposite direction while just rolling.)
