Question Transmission Glitch '08 Passion

Took "Baby Car" to RBM today to see about the glitch in the transmission that causes the car to shift into N while driving and won't go back into gear. Got kinda dangerous the last two times it happened in very bad locations. Hoping this will end the problem. Has anyone else out there had this condition repaired? Has it ended the problem? Getting ready to go to the OutSmart the Dragon tour for the first time and want my Baby to be safe. Looking forward to meeting other "Smarties". My sister and I will be arriving on Friday. See you soon!

You need to take it to the Meredes dealer and ask them about software updates. I had the same problem and they installed two software updates and the problem was fixed. No further problems with gears. Most people do not realize that these updates are available. That is why I always take mine to the dealer. They know about these things.

If it's ever been adjusted, could be the shift mechanism is out, and needs to adjusted back in. There's a sticky around here somewhere on it, but definitely take it to the dealer to have them check the software too. There were a couple of updates for the 08 trans. (can have dealer adjust it also, but if you're mechanically inclined, it's pretty easy to do.
