Is it true that Cruise control is going to available?

I'm still waiting for my Smart (estimated March - May 2009).

My one concern was lack of cruise control. I love that feature.

I saw reports that the newer models will have cruise control. Can anyone confirm?

Alex

This is good news if it's true. There are aftermarket units available too. Hopefully Smart has finally 'smartened' up and added this much requested option.

I'd love to know where you saw and/or heard reports of the possibility of cruise control.
And welcome to the forums, Alex.

That would be nice, but a nice arm rest would be nicer IMO. Our Smart Car's "ETA" is 6/27 in Jax. I'm told that means when the ship comes into port. Anyone have an idea how long it takes from "ETA" to ready-to-deliver from the showroom? I know lots of prep has to be done as the cars are almost "shrink wrapped" on that long voyage. I'm more excited now than I was when we 1st ordered back on 5/27/07. Ron

ETA from the dealer's R11 sheet refers to the expected date of delivery to the dealer. the arrival in port at bremerhaven will be usually about 30 days prior to that.

dealer prep shouldn't take more than a day or two. depending upon how many they have to prep in that shipment.

If you search the forums you'll see there's an after market arm rest available. Seems relatively inexpensive and easy to install.

For those who are looking at a July-Oct 2009 DD, will we have the opportunity to incorporate the new features or colors into our order?

Yes Exipnaki, just before it goes to the assembly line they will contact you and ask you to finalize the options with the dealer
