I too was a little unsure of the space in the rear of the Smart, but after unloading three tote buckets worth of junk out of my old Chevy and adding a toolbox plus some workout gear, and man i was able to get it all in there with the front seat barely folded down.
Another time, I was able to get two dufffle bags, a case continaing my CPAP unit, and my freinds bag of golf clubs plus a small bag filled with munchies as well as a case of bottled water for the road trip in the rear of that car plus room to spare. i can also get a few sacks of groceries in the back of that car no problem. You would be amazed at just how much space that little area holds on a given trip.

Agreed! My wife and I did a roadtrip and on the way back we had the back pretty much stuffed including the entire tailgate! I weighed all the stuff I took out and we had 140 lbs of cargo and 430 lbs of passengers, so it was just a little overloaded.
Good idea - still learning how to use this forum. Thanks for the link. My Mother's wheelchair is much smaller. So, . . . no trouble there. And added my info in the appropriate area - of "What Did I Order" after visiting the Pittsburgh Auto Show. Great Valentine's Day for me.
With the smart you learn to shop and pack more wisely. I still take trips to Costco and fit everything in the back like 24 pack of gatorade, chips, pizzas, fruits and veggies, etc. I've never run out of space in the back before... You just have to stack stuff jussssttt right!
Anyway, they say using your brain keeps you younger longer, I like the idea of trying to figure out more and more creative ways of stashing your goods inside the car. I'd sure like to see a picture of that Westie enjoying himself in the car! Those dogs are awesome little critters.....

Will do, as soon as I get my Smart - Jodee loves car traveling. She goes everywhere with me as long as the weather is appropriate. Has her doggie seat, and is safely harnessed with a doggie belt. She visits nursing homes twice a week and is a well known personality with the aged.
