So glad you came through this unhurt. Also glad your car is a testament to the safety of it's design. Good luck on the repairs.

I would call this a very, very happy story....the car did it's job and kept you safe. You are alive where a lot of people may have been killed. Count yourself fortunate and look on the bright side of your story.

Remember that because of Euro NCAP tests on the W450, the W451 had a front-end redesign for better "pedestrian safety."

WOW Sparky, you're one lucky person!

The wife and I used to live in Great Falls and one night rainy night she took out a yeti with the vette. It was pretty routine to get one every three or four years. Glass and vehicles are replaceable, good people are not.

Best to you,

My mom's had the bad luck to twice hit a deer jumping out of the bushes across the freeway in an Explorer. Both times the car sustained significant body damage and spent days in the shop. Glad you came out of this OK!

I remember reading. . .

some time ago, that deer are the number one killer of humans in the US. No other animal kills us like the deer when it jumps in front of your vehicle.

While I was living in CO you had to constantly be on the lookout for them. . . especially at night, as well as the MUCH larger elk that frequent the area, too. Buddy of mine slammed into a doe one night with a VW bug. Lucky for him it didn't come into the front seat with him - I guess that's the worst situation. Animal in your front seat, injured and thrashing to get away. . . can do lots of damage.

And then there's the story of another friend driving through NM late one night - and hit a steer! Really honked up his car - and he couldn't even keep the meat.

Would that have been considered a MOOving violation? Sorry, I couldn't help saying that. I should be beaten for such things - sorry to go off-topic but I couldn't resist.
