Waiting for our Smartfortwo

Hi all, we are HandRsmart. We live in Southern California and are awaiting our new Smart that should be delivered in a few weeks. We are very excited about getting it but continue to have some concerns we keep hearing about. Up keep costs, driving on freeways, warranty's and all that kind of stuff.
However, we are mostly excited and especially about having a place like this to share thoughts and joys of ownership. Look forward to sharing more in the near future!! So long for now! HandRsmart

Not sure where you get your information from, but I have heard very few complaints in the areas you mention. Most of us adore the car and have a great time driving it. Let the fun begin

I bet one of those thing you've heard is IIHS report from a last week. They are just fear mongering. I drive my car at 65-70 on highway and it runs fine. The only issue people like to tailgate the smart no matter how fast you go (can't stand for a little car to be ahead of them).

I have had my little car since March 2008 and have not had any real problems. I had a routine maintenance done but that at the one year after it was made. I have no problem keeping up with traffic on highways. I bought my car since I like small cars. The good mpg is a bonus. I really enjoy driving my little car.
