My wife and I will be picking-up our Smart "Passion" Cabriolet this Saturday at 9am. We saw the Smart for the first time in May 2007 while we were vacationing in Rome, and even visited a Smart dealership while there, and thought that the car would be a perfect substitute for the Lexus SUV (GX470) that my wife is now driving to/from work. Once back home, we put our names on the "waiting list" as soon as it was announced that the Smart was coming to the U.S. As ordered, the car should be white with a silver roll-bar and a red cloth interior; extras are fog lights, air, and a navigation system that has voice, Bluetooth, and iPod adaption. The navigation is a $1500 item, so out-the-door is $20,708. Other than good looking (to us) and great gas mileage, what else should we know? If offered, should I take the extended warranty? I'm inclined not to go for an extended warranty, but would be interested in what others here think.
