Hi Smarties - well, my wife and I have on order a red/silver Passion. The dealer here in Atlanta is Buckhead MB. I'd like to hear from folks about the performance and gas milage. Has anyone taken a long, multi day trip in their SmartCar. We plan to use the Smart not just to drive in Atlanta (one of worst cities in the US to drive in) but also for road trips. How is it on the I/S roads? I don't expect the car until Dec. or later and we're not in any hurry since we need to sell one of vehicles (but not the Corvette)before receiving the Smart Car. I drove 400 miles in a Cabrio in the last two days. Drove up to 80 on the freeway and at around 60 up the mountain to Big Bear. No problems, no issues.

Performance - It does fine. Some local radio personalities were doing a remote the other day and saw me take off from the light and mentioned on the air how quick the little car is capable of acceleration. (I didn't hear it, some friends mentioned it)

MPG's - For me it suffers on the I/S or anything over 65mph it really takes a nosedive - at least on my particular car it does.

It does fine on I/S but the car LOVES secondary roads/ state highways. That's where it really shines IMO. As far as ride goes, if you're riding in a Corvette you'll feel like you're in a mini-van. My most recent Corvette experience is more of the antique ones ('63 SW coupe) & C3's and a little C4's so I can't compare beyond that.

If you've done many trips in the Vette, you've learned to pack fairly efficient already so you have a foot in the door.

The last thing is Smiles Per Mile - NO CAR COMES EVEN CLOSE!
