Where's the jack?

Hey everbody! Just found this site & signed up. Had my Smart about a month & starting to feel a bit insecure about the jack, spare, lug wrench,or lack there of situation. I called my dealer with no luck. Any suggestions?

Did your dealer off you the tire waranty? Its one way of getting pece of mind.

But let me ask you this, When was the last time you had to change a tire on a car?
WOuld you have been able to prevent it from going flat if you knew it had a leak?

If you answered yes to to the second question, the the TPS (tire Presure sensors) will let you know when you have a tire below a normal level. If the light goes on you simply check your tires to see what tire is low (before you have a flat) and you add air, either at a service station or using the provided compressor found under the pasenger floor. If you sense you have more than a slow leak, like a nil in the tire you can add the slime that comes with the compressor under the pasenger floor.

Somepeople have added a Tire plug kit to add even more asurances.

If all this doesn't do enough to ease your mind, then you can purchase a front pure wheel from your dealer and store it behind the drivers seat (if your not to tall)

Compact spare tire
Space saver tire
Spare tire or repair kit?
Spare Tire

Jack for Smart
best jack?
Jacking points

This should keep you buisy.

Or just get AAA

If going the spare route, I'd suggest an alloy wheel instead of the steel Pure wheel. Only pocket change more money, better looking, and lighter.
RE: behind driver's seat storage ... it works for some folks. I'm only 67", and it doesn't work for me. I like to keep a little space between me and that explosive device in the steering wheel.

If I were you I'd be looking at a spare tire for that little trip your planning later in the year

I have a spare (which is how I know the behind the seat storage doesn't work for me), and the necessary tools. But, I'm seriously contemplating getting rid of them. They take up too much room. And, that brings up another alternative, which I plan to use instead.
Ultraseal Tire Sealant pre-emptive sealant. It has its detractors, but this ain't the same goop most are familiar with.

Welcome freewilly, we recently got our smart knowing it had no spare, etc. But I never had a spare along on any of my motorcycle trips and never worried about it.
Probably your best emergency tool is a cell phone.

...the new goop is OK if it's a nail or something small like that...now, a bolt hole like the one our tire experienced could only be fixed with the cell phone..prompt response from our dealer made it almost a non-issue...

jetfuel...not flat
