where's my car dude?

Many of you on this board have read about my continuing saga of my Black/Silver/Black Leather Passion. It all started over 1 year ago, 453 days actually, when I reserved my car. In early November I configured and a few weeks ago I finally received my VIN# and tracked my car aboard the cargo ship which docked May 1st in Baltimore. This is the last time I could find any info regarding my car.

Yesterday I visited my Dealer and the manager checked for cars at port and he brought up a bunch of cars but mine was not listed. I know for a fact my car was on the Boat and the boat arrived and unloaded. He said after cars are loaded to trucks for delivery to dealers they can not tell with their tracking software until they are about to be delivered. Does anyone know if this is the case? I have waited longer than anyone on this board with maybe 1 exception so I think you can understand my frustration and anticipation.

I read somewhere here of an owner in Seattle that waited 5 weeks from the car being offloaded in San Diego to it getting to Seattle. I waited about three weeks from Baltimore to NYC. During that time there's no information. So it can vary. Very difficult time for waiting.

I know it seems like an eternity, but you are almost there. As far as tracking the truck transport company, I haven't heard if its possible. The trucking company probably can tell you...if you're a registered user....but whether or not Smartusa is a "user" (they should be!!) and whether they have devulged this to dealers, I don't know. I have it listed somewhere what trucking company they have used...at least to Kentucky, I see if I can find it if you're interested.

I believe that's true. Once smart USA told me my car was "with the dealer" the dealer told me when it would be unloaded. A week after that they said it was "on it's way" and could be between 1-4 weeks (Northern California) before it was at the dealership.

It took 10 days from the time it was on its way, and the dealer didn't know the actual date until the truck showed up.

I would guess that it's on the next truckload to your dealer, probably 5-10 more days.
