Wrench Signal

I have read the other posts about the wrench signal being removed after service but my car onlyhas 1,100 miles on it and the wrench keeps flashing. I know it is not time to service it so must this mean that it needs to be checked? I am hoping nobody says "Duh!"

My understanding is that is comes on at 1 year or 10000 miles, whichever comes first.

The wrench on my little car showed long before I got to 10,000 miles (still have not gotten to it as of yet). Like the post above, it was one year old and showing it needs routine maintanence.

Well now I am getting a -7 in the place of total mileage until I put it into gear. I am calling the dealer tomorrow. It's 80 miles away so I hope it is something easy.

I believe it's telling you that it's 7 days past due on the 1 year/10K mile service. If the dealer doesn't remember to reset the counter when it's delivered, then the clock starts running from the time the car is built.

I wouldn't drive 80 miles just to have it reset. If you've done the oil/filter change or want to wait for a full year since purchase and just turn off the wrench, try this: https://wiki.bentleypublishers.com/d...ndicator+Reset

It's usually a good idea to do the first oil change early to clean out anything left from the manufacturing process. I did my first oil change at 4,500 miles.

Well, I made a phone call to my service department for my car. He told me that it is saying I need to have it serviced. I asked him why it would need service service when it only has 1600 miles on it. Well, he said it needs service. I agaion told him it was 1,600 not 16000. But that did not change his attitude. You were correct about the -7. Great, so now the days will count down until I get enough mileage or months. That sounds like they thought I was going to buy it. It made no sense. I now do not feel great about my only service center in the area. I will look at your information and download it for the removal. Just so much more BS

your owners manual says 10,000 miles or 1 year, Has it been 1 year?
No one seems to read their owners manual. There is a lot of useful information in there.
